“Participate in or organize boycotts of companies that are enabling the Trump regime — including Elon Musk’s X and Tesla, Amazon, Meta (Facebook), and any companies that advertise on X or on Fox News. Never underestimate the effectiveness of consumer boycotts … Loud, boisterous, attention-getting boycotts can harm brand names and reduce the prices of corporations’ shares of stock.”
—Robert Reich

The People Have Spoken
A Big Win for Democracy. Thank You Virginia!
Virginia voters just handed a big win to democracy, approving a new map that could flip four House seats and blunt recent GOP gains. It’s a clear pushback against the Trump-driven gerrymandering playbook — and a sign that organizing, turnout, and persistence are working. This is what sustained pressure looks like.

Union Now Is America’s New Strike Fund
The American Prospect’s Daily Prospect
April 20, 2026
Whitney Wimbish reports on Union Now, a new nonprofit led by flight attendants union president Sara Nelson, that aims to remove one of the biggest barriers to organizing: money. With roughly 70% of Americans supporting unions but far fewer able to join, the group plans to create a centralized national strike fund to provide direct financial support to workers—helping them organize without losing income and backing those fired in retaliation. Targeting high-profile campaigns at companies like Amazon and Starbucks, Union Now bets that real resources—not just momentum—can shift the balance of power toward workers.

He calls for voter mobilization, consumer pressure, support for legal challenges, and a disciplined commitment to truthful information—while emphasizing persistence and collective effort as the path forward.
Especially check out numbers 4, 5 and 9: “Organize and mobilize for the mid-terms,” “Participate in or organize boycotts” and “Call your members of Congress.”

Why Americans Hate Data Centers: Let Us Count the Ways
The American Prospect
April 16, 2026
You are probably familiar with some of the objections to these data centers: rising energy costs for consumers, massive need for water that can never be clean again, noise pollution, and so much more. Harold Meyerson discusses a big reason Americans of all political persuasions are coming together to “just say NO.”
“But the collapse of the trans-partisan support for the centers has causes that to go well beyond neighborhood sentiment and rising power bills. They also clearly reflect the public’s rising apprehensions of and resentments toward the coming of AI, whose expansion is the reason for the surge in data centers.”

2. CONTINUE CALLING OUR FEDERAL DELEGATION
Senator Steve Daines: (202) 224-2651
Senator Tim Sheehy: (202) 224-2644
Representative Ryan Zinke: (202) 225-5628
Representative Troy Downing: (202) 225-3211
This is a three-alarm fire that needs an immediate response
The Republican National Committee (RNC) has gleefully noted that the tallies for phone calls objecting to actions of the current regime, to federal representatives and senators in red and rural red states, have decreased and signals a trend toward an apathetic collapse.
This is according to sources who are well-versed in political strategy tracking. This perceived collapse results in the regime assuming more latitude to continue their assaults on public lands, immigrants, LGBTQ+ communities, foreign countries and their citizens, transparent governance, and the working people in this country.
The reason we call our federal reps every day is to have the calls tallied. It is not to change their minds. It is to signal a strong and enduring pushback against the authoritarian takeover.
You can use the Five Calls app to do this (here are the Montana response tallies), or the numbers we provide you above. Simply pick the atrocity de jour, object to it, personalize your objections.
Have a family member or friend deployed in this illegal, immoral war in Iran? Let the delegation know you’re concerned about their care if they’re wounded now that the Veterans Administration has been subjected to budget cuts and the outsourcing of services to corporations as part of the administrations policies of grift and bribery.
Gas prices threatening to impact you or yours in some critical way? Let them know you won’t forget their coziness with big oil when you go to the polls next. And tell them we’re watching them for any and all shenanigans they might pull at the polls.
Once in a while, ask for a follow-up email on your call.
Call every day. Call. Be counted and boost the tally counts. It can result in brake-pumping by the regime, and we need that! Note that emails and handwritten letters are not currently included in the tally.
