Put it on your calendar — first party of the holiday season!
Thursday, December 4
6 p.m. – 7:50 p.m.
L & C Library, Large Meeting Room
IH is hosting a special gathering for members and anyone else who is interested, to connect, share ideas, and break bread together.
We’ll celebrate what’s gone right in the defense of Democracy and an affordable economy for all, with conversation prompts as we mingle. We can discuss the many boycott campaigns we are supporting — economic pushback is an effective, non-compliance tactic if we can make the pain severe enough for corporate boards and CEOs. Yard signs and window signs will be available!
We won’t be spending your donated funds on this event because Indivisible National has grants specifically for these gatherings.
This shindig is family friendly, and new members are welcome to join us as we celebrate our successes and face these challenging times together — with a renewed commitment to joy, grit, resistance, and community.

Petition to Protect Presented to Montana Lawmakers
Hundreds of volunteers in Helena and communities across Montana began collecting signatures on the Petition to Protect at No Kings Rallies on October 18, and continued to collect them through November 10. In the end, more than 6,000 Montanans in cities and towns from Glendive to Troy signed in support.

Pledge to Protect Petitions ready to deliver to Montana’s elected officials
The petition called for U.S. Senators Daines and Sheehy, U.S. Representatives Downing and Zinke, and Governor Gianforte to publicly:
- condemn political violence;
- support and protect the right to assemble, protest, and speak;
- support and protect due process rights; and
- condemn the use of U.S. military forces against civilians.
The signed petitions were copied and delivered over the past two weeks to these elected officials, along with 24” x 31“ versions of the petition for each of them to sign. A set of the signed petitions was provided to Indivisibles in Montana’s Western Congressional District for Representative Zinke.
Indivisible volunteers were responsible for this petition from its conception to its delivery. The final stacks of signed petitions were an impressive representation of what an all-volunteer, statewide effort can produce. All the signatures represent the core of what Indivisible groups stand for — principles of a Democracy that protect and support everyone.
Heck yes, these are worth fighting for!
IH awaits a response from each elected official we delivered to, indicating that they will sign the petition. If they choose to sign, IH will coordinate press events. Watch for more information on this project in future newsletters.

Indivisible Announces Non-Capitulation Campaign and Boycott for Thanksgiving Weekend
Thanksgiving Day thru Monday, Dec. 1
Don’t buy anything from Target, Amazon, or Home Depot
Join the We Ain’t Buying It campaign and take action to pressure companies to stop colluding with the Trump administration and enabling their authoritarian overreach.
We have power as consumers, and we can leverage that power to protect our democracy and send a powerful message to companies: When you support Trump, we don’t support you.
OUR TARGETS
We’re focused on companies that are capitulating to the Trump administration and going along with their harmful, authoritarian policies.
- Target caved to Trump and rolled back their diversity, equity, and inclusion policies.
- Home Depot has done nothing to protect immigrants in their stores as ICE continues to conduct violent raids on their property.
- Amazon has funded the Trump administration through donations and discounted government contracts, (including for ICE), all in exchange for massive corporate tax breaks.
Let’s make it clear that there is a price to pay for enabling authoritarianism.
OUR ASK
Target, Home Depot, and Amazon must stop undermining our democracy by collaborating with, and enabling, the Trump administration.
TAKE ACTION
Join us for a full Thanksgiving blackout. Instead, support small, local businesses or mutual aid efforts in your community.
Join the WE AIN’T BUYING IT campaign

Thirty Minutes in the Lion’s Den: The Interview Trump Thought He Controlled
“There’s a strange thing that happens when you watch the full thirty-minute interview instead of the clipped version the internet tosses around. The edges soften. The masks slip. And you start to see the actual geometry of the interaction — where power sits, where insecurity leaks, where the tone changes, where the truth speaks by accident. The viral clip makes it look like a moment. The full meeting reveals a dynamic.”

How to Get Rid of “Citizens United”
Do you believe there is too much money in politics? Robert Reich does, as do many of his readers. In this article, Reich points to a home-grown solution: “Individual states — either through their legislators or their citizens wielding ballot initiatives — have the authority to limit corporate political activity and dark money spending, because they determine what powers corporations have. … In Montana, local organizers have drafted and submitted a constitutional initiative for voters to consider in 2026 — the first step in a movement built to spread nationwide. It would decline to grant to all corporations the power to spend in elections.” It’s called “The Montana Plan.”
A free informational webinar will be held via Zoom tonight (Monday, Nov. 24) from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., to introduce Montanans to The Montana Plan and the people-powered, grassroots campaign fighting for it. Volunteers will start gathering signatures in just a few weeks.
Find out more information about The Montana Plan here, where you can sign up to volunteer your time and/or money to help jump-start the campaign.
