The energy of No Kings is rising — and it starts with us. Join your fellow Indivisible Helena members for our upcoming Membership Meeting, where we’ll lock in preparations for the October 18 No Kings rally and strengthen our movement.
When & Where: 2 N Last Chance Gulch – The Livestock Building
Look for the Women’s Mural, across Broadway from The Base Camp. Enter from the north side facing the DoubleTree Hotel. Go down the stairs, then turn right.
Free parking after 5 p.m. on the street and in the city lot next to Base Camp. Please do not park in the DoubleTree lot.

Transmission from “War-Ravaged” Portland
Trump has called for 200 National Guard troops to deter “lawlessness” in a “war-ravaged” Portland, OR. I’m a Helena resident living part-time in Portland, and for the sake of job security, I can’t use my real name. Call me Dave.
From where I now sit, the only thing “war-ravaged” is Trump’s imagination.
He wants you to believe Portland is collapsing. What I’ve seen is people protesting ICE peacefully within the bounds of a few city blocks while the rest of the city goes about everyday life.
If my hometown is war-ravaged, then squeezing peaches at the farmers market, attending bookstore readings, conversing over chai lattes at sidewalk cafés, fishing under the St. John’s Bridge, and mountain biking through Forest Park must all be acts of war. In which case, Helena is “lawless” as well.
The nationwide NO KINGS rally happens Saturday, Oct. 18. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to attend Helena’s event, but I’ll be marching here in Portland, thinking about my Helena peeps every step of the way.
It’s SO important for you to show up for NO KINGS. Every body counts — keep showing up, bring your friends, bring your frienemies, unite and fight the peaceful fight. We’ve got to blast the high-beams on the bullsh*t narrative spewing out of the White House.
Don’t believe the hype. Don’t buy the hoax. Release the Epstein files.

Stand Up, Stand Together, Sign On
Join us at the Capitol for No Kings
October 18, Noon – 1 p.m.
Word on the street is Lady Liberty will be making a special appearance at our rally! Lady Liberty is loved around the world for welcoming immigrants into our nation, and as a symbol of the light of liberty, the laws of justice, and freedom from tyranny. We are excited to welcome her to the Helena No Kings Rally.
The program will include music — solemn a Capella and high energy dance music — will be thought provoking, will evoke a range of emotions, and contains a specific action you will be urged to take — all elements designed to unite us to common cause.
Now is the time to stand together: to organize our families, friends, neighbors, and coworkers to take a stand against American autocracy. Register for the rally at mobilize.us/nokings/event/839523. Registration helps us prepare for a big crowd, share important updates, and build the network we’ll need to keep this movement growing.
Like us, I’m sure you can feel the tide is turning. Now is the time to turn shared courage into unstoppable momentum — proving that when we stand together, our strength spreads, and our democracy endures.

“Maybe We’re the Bad Guys”
A 40-ish young man, who works out at the gym and plays Warhammer when he’s not working, recently sent us this video.
This video by a military veteran pretty much sums up the grotesquerie our government has become. Out of the mouths of those who have been harmed the most comes a voice we are rarely allowed to hear, and that is never allowed to speak.
We need a way to connect the resistance with this constituency. Focusing on young men — always the first recruiting ground for fascists — will make it easier for us to defeat incipient fascism than we think.
