No Kings III
Happening March 28. Mark Your Calendar!

National Indivisible announced the NO Kings Coalition is preparing the largest day of protest in US history on March 28. NO KINGS III opposes the authoritarian actions of the Trump administration: We will stand, march, and shout, “This nation belongs to the people, not to kings!”
Stay tuned for details, and, rest assured, Indivisible Helena is energized and developing plans!

Helena Shows Up to Protect Community

Photos courtesy Skye Hatten Photography.
Helena Indivisibles and Helena Neighbors: you showed up, you stood in Solidarity with our immigrant neighbors, you were a force for good. You understand the necessity of accountability by our elected officials, the power of power from below.
Five hundred neighbors stood up together to demand our city government protect all of us. We will continue to work to get stronger protections, and we will not end our vigilance— ever.
This is democracy in practice — neighbors showing up and holding power accountable. Onward, together.

High School Students Unite
to Stand Up for Helena’s Immigrants
After having their rally cancelled because of safety concerns, Helena High students pivoted and congregated at Capitol High to show their solidarity with our immigrant community and called for ICE OUT!
Capitol High students held their rally at Montana and Custer.
Welcome the new generation of political activists! Power to young people!

Good Reads / Good Watches
1
Gabe Furshong
Dispatch from Minneapolis
CounterPunch
January 28, 2026
Indivisible Helena member Gabe Furshong was in Minneapolis shortly after Renee Good was murdered. He opened his caring heart and questioning mind to his witnessing of what was happening. This article describes his experiences and reflects on what it means to be awake and present for the impacts on humanity, oneself, and community. A riveting read by this homegrown author, activist, father, and engaged community member.

Jason Boeshore
Chairman of the Richland County Democratic Central Committee
FACEBOOK VIDEO: Our delegation signs off on Trump’s masked police, while they deport the very people who keep our communities running. Shame.
Boeshore explains, plain and simple, the injustice of arresting Roberto Orozco in Froid, Mont., a man who has lived and worked in Froid for 10 years: “The main resource we need, that we don’t have (here in rural Montana, in rural America) is people. Good people. And Roberto was good people …”
The farmer-rancher continues: “Roberto has done more for agriculture out here in rural Montana than any of our DC delegation.” A powerful statement.

This Week’s To-Do List
Make Good Trouble in Helena!
1. PRIORITY: BOYCOTT TARGET
Target is headquartered in Minneapolis and is Minnesota’s fourth largest employer. They should be standing with the people of Minnesota and speaking out against ICE’s invasion of the state instead of giving ICE bathroom privileges and allowing them to abduct Target employees.
In Helena, it’s hard to give up shopping at the closest thing we have to a department store. We understand. We get it. But work-arounds are possible. Shop at small local stores whenever possible.
Consumer boycotts are effective! Sacrifice for our community, our democracy. Don’t support corporate compliance with the fascist regime.

2. CONTINUE CALLING OUR FEDERAL DELEGATION
Senator Steve Daines: (202) 224-2651
Senator Tim Sheehey: (202) 224-2644
Representative Ryan Zinke: (202) 225-5628
Representative Troy Downing: (202) 225-3211
• Abolish ICE
• ICE, DHS, and Military out of our communities

23. HONK & WAVE
Saturdays, noon to 1 p.m.
11th and Montana Ave.
Approximately 60 protestors showed up to wave this past Saturday! It’s the place to be on Saturdays from noon to 1, except on days at 10℉ or below, or 0℉ with the wind chill.

Local Pantries Need Our Help
Indivisibles, your activism in the form of generosity is being called on! One of our partners, Waking Giant, is restocking three food and essentials pantries around Helena. Resupplying these crucial points of relief for our neighbors has become a daily effort. IH can help. Here are the details:
- Consider making a weekly commitment to this effort and recruiting friends, churches, book clubs, and so on to participate. If you can’t do it regularly, do it when you can because every bit helps.
- The pantries are located at:
- PureView Health at 1930 9th Ave
- L & C Health Department, also 1930 9th Ave, with entry on the west side of the building
- PureView Health at 630 N. Last Chance Gulch
- Needs:
- Non-perishable food items such as boxed and ready-to-eat meals, canned foods, shelf-stable milks, canned or dried fruit, and jerky
- Plastic eating utensils
- Hygiene items include dish/body/laundry soap, tampons, sanitary pads, razors, lotion, bandages, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, shampoo, hair ties, etc.
Once you’ve visited a pantry, you will have even more ideas. Please keep in mind that the pantries are not large, so if you buy in bulk, break it down into smaller packaging. If, by some chance, another person has just filled the pantry when you get there, check with the staff to see if they can store what you brought for later use.
If you have more questions, email us, with “Food Pantry – Barb” in the subject line, and we will help you get answers.

Member/Volunteer Spotlight
We are spotlighting Indivisible Helena volunteers to honor them and to inspire members to jump into the activist pool! Ted has been a member of IH and a volunteer for a little over a year. We are so grateful for his continued involvement, his “can-do will-do” approach, as well as his wit and honest feedback.
IH: Is this your first time volunteering as an Activist?
Ted: As a child of the 60s I went to rallies and demonstrations but did not formally belong to a group.
IH: What are two or three things about this work you enjoy the most?
Ted: The most satisfying aspect is taking a brainstorming session from ideas to planning to fulfillment. Examples would be The Petition to Protect to Democracy project, including the event at the Rotunda, or bringing the NO Kings rallies to fruition. And then there are of course, the people in the group who work tirelessly.
IH: How does expressing your activism through Indivisible Helena make a difference in your life?
Ted: Being able to contribute to the fight to save democracy and to try to spread the word has given me a sense of pride in my efforts.
IH: What would you say to members who might be hesitant to enter the world of activist volunteerism with Indivisible Helena?
Ted: This is easy. I was initially so impressed by the members who had expertise in politics or organizing or fundraising and wondered where I would fit. Be patient, a place for you will reveal itself. It did for me.
IH: Anything else?
Ted: Proud to be a member-activist of Indivisible Helena.
